Judging:
Wednesday, March 31, 2010
Removal:
Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm and Monday, April
12, 2010 10:00 am to noon. All entries removed prior to this
date and these times without permission of the Superintendent will forfeit all awards and premiums.
Divisions:
Open Painting Show
There
will be eight (8) Divisions:
1. Advanced
Painting
2. Amateur Painting
3. Youth: The Youth Division will be from individuals only, no
class projects.
A. Junior Youth - up to 9 years of age as of January 1, 2010
B. Youth - 10-18 years of age as of January 1, 2010
4. Exceptionally Challenged: Youth Only
5. Drawing
A. Adult - 18 & over
B. Youth up to 18 years of age as of Jan
1, 2010
6. 3 - Dimensional Art
A. Adult - 18 & over
B. Youth - up to 18 years of age as of
Jan. 1, 2010
Open Photography Show:
There
will be Four (4) Divisions. Amateur only
No
Professional (one who earns income from Photography).
1. Black and White Photography
- ADULT
2. Color Photography -ADULT
3.
Black and White Photography - YOUTH
4. COLOR Photography
- YOUTH
RULES AND GUIDELINES:
1. Any Clay County Resident may enter
the Painting and Photography Show.
2. No pre-registration. Work will be
registered when entered with the claim check number. The exhibitor must present the claim check to pick up the work.
Work will be signed in and signed out. Registration indicates your agreement with all the rules
and guidelines, as stated herein.
3. Attach a 2" X 3" card to the back of work
with the following information:
Title
of the work Division Name
of Artist Contact Number
4. All paintings must be:
Dry, framed and ready to hang with screw eyes and wire on the back. No saw tooth
hangers or paper hangers permitted. Oil or Acrylic on canvas need not be covered. Gallery
wrapped canvas is accepted.
All other works must
be protected by glass or Plexiglas.
Improperly
prepared work will not be received.
5. Artwork that has been exhibited or won prizes and premiums
in past Clay County Fairs are ineligible for entry.
6. Any division with
less than ten (10) entries will be exhibited; but not judged.
7. All work must have
been completed in last two (2) years.
8. All submitted artwork must be original work created
by the entrant. Copies of other artists work is strictly prohibited! No Giclee prints are allowed.
9.
Work may not exceed 30"X40" including the frame and not less than 8"X10"
in size.
10. No work may be removed before the "pick-up" date and time.
11. The Fair Committee
will take every reasonable precaution for the safeguard of entries; but, the exhibitor assumes all responsibility for any
accident, loss or damage.
The work will be displayed for accessible viewing with a volunteer serving as host/hostess.

A professional judge will select the award winning works.
The decision of the Judge and Superintendent will be final.
13. ALL
WORKS MUST BE SUITABLE FOR FAMILY VIEWING.
14. You may have two (2) entries
if they are in different media in the art works exhibit
and two
(2) entries in Photography
(one (1) black/white photograph &
one (1) color photograph)
MEDIUMS ACCEPTED IN PAINTING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Painting:
Acrylic, watercolor, hand-made prints, oil and watercolor. No Giclee prints. Original work only.
Drawing:
Pen and ink, pencil, pastels, colored pencils, crayons, markers, charcoal, pencil and watercolor pencils.
3-Dimensional
- mixed media, collage', ceramic, pottery, assemblage', paper cutting, fabric collage'
ALL 3-D ART PIECES MUST BE ABLE TO HANG ON THE DISPLAYS.
Photography: Black and White and Color.
No
computer graphics or computer enhanced or manipulated photographs will be accepted.
